Winners and an Announcement!

Hello there, friends! So, after much deliberation, we have decided that the Edit Me Challenge will be taking a little break for the holidays! We will be back in 2012, and look forward to reconnecting with all of you at that time! Feel free to continue to submit Guest Judge and Sponsor requests until that point, but we won't have any challenges for the next several weeks. Thank you to everyone who has continued to make this challenge so much fun, and we wish you joy and wonderful memories this holiday season!

Now... on to the fun stuff! It is time to hear Alita's winners!!

Just to refresh you memory, here is a little bit about our judge for the week, the lovely Alita of Alita Jewel's Treasures:
Hi my name is Alita! I have an infinite desire to always create. I create words, memories, moments of time captured through my lens, art, poetry, and thoughts. I love all of these creations and they overwhelm me sometimes. However it is an honor to be able to share these visions, novelties, and ambitions with others. Grab a cup of coffee, and let's chat. I love to meet new people and converse with cherished friends.

Alita also writes for Bigger Picture Blogs, which nourishes creativity through intentional living . You can join every Thursday in sharing the harvest of intentional living by capturing a glimpse of the Bigger Picture through a Simple Moment. you can check it out here. Be sure to visit Alita on twitterfacebook , or Pinterest and thank her for being our judge!

And here is what she had to say about her winners:

Thank you for the opportunity to not only view fresh and new editing styles, but to connect with other photographers who love photography. I enjoyed viewing every single photo in the competition and it was hard to decide which pictures moved me the most, but the top three edits were spectacular and I can't wait to share them with you.

I chose the following:

Robin from Diet Coke on the Rocks - Delightful in every single way. I love the warmth and the soft blue of the sky is a perfect contrast the the honeyed browns. I adore this edit!

Kimberly from A Fresh Perspective - The tones in this edit make the picture ethereal and magical in a way. So lovely!

Week-26-edit

Amy from Flickr - I'm a complete sucker for bokeh and the sharp highlighting of the ice and the sky make me want to drool. This is my overall favorite! I loved it and kept going back to it. Well done!

Congratulations to our Winners! Be sure to grab your winner buttons, and we will see you back here in 2012!

Please continue to spread the word about our new home here, use the new flickr pool, and tweet away with the hashtag #editmechallenge!

This week's judge was Misty from Through a Photographer's Eyes. I find myself checking her blog often just to be inspired in photography and to see what amazing thing she’s captured lately!

On Fridays, Misty hosts the weekly Shoot. Edit. Submit. challenge. If you haven't had a chance to jump in on that one, you can check it out here. Be sure to visit Misty on Twitter and Facebook, and thank her for hosting this week! We appreciate our guest judges so much.

Misty gave us the perfect Harvest photo: this fantastic tractor. It reminded me of our family trip to the pumpkin patch and how thankful I am for the wonderful farmers who work so hard to grow the food that’s gonna fill our tables next week.

Winners! {Week24}

I was really excited about having you guys edit this photo for me. Every week I am amazed at the creativity and variety in the edits we get! I am always so inspired by the time I am done making my comment rounds, and think "boy am I glad I don'thave to choose the winner"... except this week, I do! I wish I could have chosen a dozen winners, because there were so many great entries, but I don't let anyone else cheat and pick extras, so here are my Top 3 Edits. (I also posted my own edit as part of my Texture Tuesday post over on my own blog)

Sarah @ Naptime Momtog brought back her serious pixel bender skills, and created an image that is fun and unique! You can tell the initial edit was gorgeous by the color and light in this edit, and then adding that creative touch turned this into a work of art! I can't help but wonder what my Grandpa would think of this one!

Deanna @ Snippets from Springdale had a lovely vintage edit with such light and vibrance! I love how the photo just glows! Then she added a perfect extra touch with her presentation. The frame and text really add a little extra something that I love.

And my Overall Winner:

Jordan @ Holding On to the Little Things had an edit with gorgeous colors! I love how deep the photo is. I have a tendency to go for overexposed, and remove color rather than saturate images, so I was really inspired by this edit that reminded me why variety is a beautiful thing!

Winners, be sure to grab your buttons from the sidebar!

See you all back here tomorrow for a brand new challenge!!

My Reflection of SomethingThis week, the judge for the challenge is one of your hostesses - Branson! I had been wanting to visit this spot and take this photo for quite a while now. This is one of my grandfather's old cameras, and I shared a little bit about that here. I thought it would make a perfect Edit Me photo, because what photographer can resist a vintage camera? So, when I took the photo I left plenty of room for you to play around with it! I haven't judged a challenge since the start of July, so I am excited to see some amazing, creative edits this week! I hope you guys will make this judging really hard on me!

Choosing LoveWendy Wright was our fabulous guest judge this week. Not only is she a writer, photographer and homeschooling mom, but she’s also a Disneyland nut who is learning to let go of heartache and pain while learning to dance in the rain. She started Sunflowers Photography in May 2010 and features her pictures on Choosing Love and Arizona Moms Network. Foto Friday is a brand new link up to showcase your favorite photo of the week. All levels of photography are welcome! Be sure to take a moment to thank Wendy for judging this week on Twitter and Facebook!

Her original photo was screaming for out of the box creativity, and she said you all certainly delivered!!!

Here are Wendy’s winner picks:

This picture was one I dearly loved of my boys but the glare of the sun was horrible. Since the goal of the Edit Me Challenge is to take someone else's photo and make it your own with the editing, I based this week's winners on the creativity behind the edits as well as the edit. I had no idea how difficult it would be to pick only three winners. There were so many amazing edits this week!

Captured by Jennalynn

Jenna of Captured by Jennalynn

The crisp, clear edit with Jenna's sepia action reminds me of Walt Disney's classic style. Classic Disney never goes out of style.

Fotoplicity

Jennifer of Fotoplicity

Instead of fighting the glare, Jennifer gave into it full force and completely stepped out of her comfort zone. Adding extra glare to the artistic picture was complemented with pixie dust flying around. The extra touch of grass makes the edit all her own.

Bree

The overall winner is...Bree of Bree: {his honey & her mommy}

The dreamy appearance completely helps to mask the sun glare. Reducing the saturation take the focus off Tinkerbell and place the focus on Captain Hook without compromising the coloring on his costume. Nicely done!

Thank you for allowing me to be a guest judge this week!

Congratulations to all of the WINNERS!!!

Make sure you grab your button and post it with pride.

And, of course, Bree you are the Overall Winner and you get this design prize from Southtown Creative!!!

You may know our sponsor, Jessica, from her blog Freckles & Dirt, but did you know she also has a brand new design business? She calls it Southtown Creative, and she is so talented! She is giving this week's winner a $50 credit to use on anything they choose! She does blog design, but she also does print items like business cards, invitations, and announcements!

You can follow her on Facebook at and on Twitter

I can't wait to see what the winner chooses with a $50 credit to my shop good towards ANY design element (web, graphic or print)! My services can be found here and you can view examples of both web and print design below!

THANKS AGAIN TO WENDY AND JESSICA! WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT FABULOUS JUDGES AND SPONSORS.

We are always looking for guest judges and sponsors. If you are interested, be sure to let us know!
